Privacy policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how Pagently ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our dashboard as a business owner, and when your website visitors interact with a chatbot you've built using Pagently.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email, business name and website, provided when you sign up.
• Chatbot content: the knowledge you add (website pages we crawl, documents, FAQs, and manual text), used to power your bot's answers.
• Conversation data: messages exchanged between your chatbot and your website visitors, and any lead details a visitor chooses to share (name, email, phone, and similar).
• Usage data: basic product analytics (conversation counts, feature usage) used to operate and improve the service.

3. How we use information

We use this information to operate your chatbot, generate AI responses grounded in your business knowledge, detect and route leads to you, provide analytics, and maintain the security and reliability of the service. We do not sell your data or your visitors' data to third parties.

4. Third-party processors

We use trusted infrastructure providers to operate Pagently, including a database and authentication provider (Supabase) and an AI model provider for generating chatbot replies and embeddings. These providers process data on our behalf under their own data-processing terms and do not use your data to train their own models beyond what's necessary to provide the service.

5. Your AI provider key and leads over your plan limit

On the Free plan you may save your own OpenAI, Gemini or OpenRouter API key. It is stored server-side, is never shown back in the browser (only its last four characters), and is used only to generate your own chatbot's replies. Remove it at any time from the Account page.

If your chatbot captures a lead after your plan's monthly lead limit, the lead is stored but hidden until you upgrade, and is permanently deleted after 30 days if you don't.

6. Data retention and deletion

You can delete individual knowledge sources, leads, conversations, bots, or your entire account at any time from the dashboard. Deleted data is removed from active systems; backups are retained for a limited period for disaster-recovery purposes only.

7. Website visitors

If you install a Pagently widget on your website, your visitors are informed they are interacting with an AI assistant. Message content and any details a visitor provides are shared with you, the business owner, as the data controller for your own website.
